Avon Beauty Bus : Exciting New SS16 Arrivals

Once again the Avon spread annual joy with their highly anticipated beauty bus, heralding the arrival of their newest products. This year, Avon remains ahead of the beauty trends developing innovative products which are bang on every beauty bloggers wish list.

The first arrival that I am excited for is the arrival of their matte lipstick. Available in more shades then I can count, the colours range from nude to plum. Matte lipsticks are trending as the finish of choice, and whereas before we would have to apply a powder to take the sheen off of regular lipstick and achieve matte, now Avon has released a wide range of colours which are sure to be favourites and require 0 fuss.

I'm wearing superb wine here. Lipsticks will retail for £8.00 and be available early 2016.

Skin care for Avon is another exciting area. A new range of Nutra Effects facial creams is specially created to tackle individual skincare needs. There is the hydration collection, radiance collection, balance collection and more. Whatever your skin care needs, they surely have the cure so keep your eyes on this range which will launch early 2016 also.

Exciting for me because I love nails was the stunning selection of Avon nail polishes. What is great about these is that they are available NOW! Perfect for Christmas they make the ideal stocking fillers and come in festive glitters. See online to buy and get delivered straight to your home for hustle free Christmas shopping.

Celebrity nail artist Kim Tracey does a festive glittery effect on the points of my nails. Loved this look.  Shop the range here

Sleek 24KT Gold Collection

Yesterday was Sleek's 24KT Gold collection launch party where they show cased Lip gloss, Eyeshadow palette and Highlighting palette.

I have to say that of all the collection the i-lust eye shadow palette 'The Gold Standard' is a stroke of genius and must have for the following reasons:

1. Cute and compact and comes with a brush and foam tip  with mirror - what else do you need for make-up on the go?

2. Colours Vivienne and Laurent can also work for bow highlighting and contouring for most skin tones.

3. The Other colours have a nice rich base that can go with any skin tone and doesn't make you look ashy.

The new '24KT Gold' Sleek collection is set to be in stores for Christmas selling at well know retailer Superdrug.

Matte Lips + Coral Smouldering Eyes tutorial

The hair, the eyebrows and makeup is the hatrick of Fleek.  Once you get those three down you could basically wear a bin liner and still look like you are having a good day (just not with crocs, no one can get away with crocks!)

So as before we have trawled the Youtube web for the best make-up tutorials to re-create the look, with product list complete with links to buy, I know thank us later!

We Chose Teni as she had the closest eye make up routine to Rhianna's look we find.  She also helpfully shows us her make up routine but if you have that down feel free to skip to [3:57]

Want jucier looking lips?

Rhianna's lips are always centre of attention.  How does she not smudge her lipstick?  Does she not eat?...anyhow not everyone has been blessed with naturally occurring juicy lips - and we feel that the Rhianna look is not a Rhianna look wthout the trade mark Juicy lip so have thrown in this quick and easy to follow tutorial. We love it because it doest advocate drawing around your mouth like a clown, or using a shot glass like an idiot. :D Yay!

Need Matte Lips?

Ok so as far as getting the Matt lip look - the tip is to apply translucent setting powder to your lips - for more details check out this tutorial below.  As for Rhianna's sultry lip shade check out MAC's Viva Glam Rhianna's Lipstick. Festival Ready Hair.

Yaay ! The Suns out & as Glasto makes way for Love Box  and Wireless it's officially festival aka funky hair season. Pink, Blue, Red what colour is right for you and what are your options? Well my beauties I'm here to explain it all. Do you can have the colour power to rock the party?

For the dye hards / Pastel hair / grey , silver hair

Light wash hair is all the rage and can be a bit daunting. If you have blonde hair- Yay! it should only take one bleaching from golden, and if you have platinum hair already you are good to go! For those with extensions/ darker hair who are willing to dye...

To achieve the look it is best to work with Virgin (non coloured hair). You will have to dye your hair with 30vol developer + bleach powder. Everyone is different but if you have dark brown or black you will most likely have to do the process twice. Probably twice, if you are starting from brown hair. Leave the bleach on for 30 mins. One way to protect your hair from damage is to coat with coconut oil prior to bleaching. The idea is to get your hair platinum blonde.

Once you have it platinum blonde you may need to tone out any brassiness with Wella T18 toner to get rid of evil orange tones and wash further with & Loreal Silver Shampoo. To find out how I used silver shampoo to achieve my look above visit http://lifebyloisblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/summer-silver-hair-top-tips.html

Once you have the brassy out you can pretty much achieve any pale colour-

Achieving semi permanent silver hair :

Use Loreal silver shampoo. Leave on for 20 mins
or
Use crazy colour silver mixed with conditioner

Achieving permanent colour

Use Wella toner T50 for permanent silver hair. Buy on Amazon mix with 20vol developer.

Achieving pastel colours from platinum

- My range of choice is Crazy Color semi permanent hair dyes. As the colour is semi permanent you can really play with colour. From blue to pink- go crazy ! To achieve Cara's hair use candy floss, mix with conditioner and leave on for 30 mins.

For those with darker hair.

For those of you with darker hair who don't wish to damage it- fear not, you
Can achieve colour in darker hues.

Try navy and khaki colours which can be applied to a tame brown Ombre- or contact us for a custom colour weave.

In this post Law is wearing silver locks at no damage to her own. Contact us at info@lawandmiaw.com for custom colours and appointments x For more tips on do's and don'ts check out Law's blog Life by Lois http://lifebyloisblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/summer-silver-hair-top-tips.html

Step 2: Frame the Soul...Rhianna eyebrow tutorial coming up!

First things first - if eyes are the windows to the soul - Eyebrows are the window frames!

(yeah we know that was corny and will cringe about it later...)

...anyhow we have compiled what we believe are the best tutorials complete with product lists for you to perfect your eyebrows.

First off we have a pretty good Youtube tutorial from Chinutay A, we chose her as her method doesn't require plucking and the ending result was natural and classy (we personally hate those obvi hair blocks people are sporting on their foreheads these days, makes me wonder whether they own mirrors or have honest friends)

Mini Recap

Step 1: Fill in ends of eyebrows with Essence Eye Gel Pencil.

Step 2: Underline eyebrow with  Mac MAC angled brush (preferably non-synthetic) and Laura mercier brown eyeshadow in Coffee Grind.

Step 3:  Go over the gel pencil area with the powder to set.

Step 4: Brush with eyebrow brush beginning and middle of eyebrows (not ends) to blend.

Step 4:  Put your foundation close to the brow with flat tipped brush small strokes using a synthetic brush as good for liquids and blend

The Kit and cost

1. Essence eye gel £2.30

2. Eye brow brush £3.00

3. Matt 'Coffee Grind' eye-shadow powder by Laura Mercier £19.00

4. Angled brush by MAC £16.50

5. Straight tipped brush by MAC £19.00

6. Foundation that suits you - Chinutay used NARS sheer  £31.00

7. Mac Brown Gel in dip down £15.50

Step 2 for the Rhianna look is complete!  We hope you enjoyed and stay tuned for more information on how to get your eyes to stand out!

Get Rhianna's Hair here! x

So first things first - the hair is beautifully thick, long and glossy!

For those of us who aren't blessed with this amount of hair on our heads - or this quality the next step option is fake it to make it! As this is so long and un-realistically thick a weave is your best bet.

We recommend three to four bundles of 22 inch and 24 inch Premium Brazilian body wave or Premium Peruvian Loose Wave

Weaving method  - Full sew, minimal leave out if similar hair texture or closure.  If you like to put your hair up, ask your hair stylist for a versatile sew in.  If you live in London UK and want this look click here.

Stay tuned make - up tutorials tips and tricks coming up next x

The Middle: Long Bob Life

The middle seems to be a place where people are settling nowadays. Maybe it comes with getting older, the world seems to be less black and white and suddenly one finds oneself appreciating the complexity of grey. Of the middle. Of hybrids. The best of both worlds.

This theory shift can be reflected in my new appreciation for the long bob. For years I have been cutting my hair in the shortest bob or the longest unbelievable weave.

But you know what? I'm now settling for something in between. The long bob. It has the sleek sexy confidence of short bob, with the flowing luxury of longer locks.

So today I settled with this number.

Box Braids For Summer Natural Protective Styles

When it comes to my hair, my preferences sway like the wind. From braids to natural afro to weave then wigs, only to settle upon my first love, braids.

I first fell in love with braids as a protective style around 2008, when they gracefully assisted me in growing out a Halle Berry Crop whilst also transitioning from relaxed to natural. Braids just agreed with my hair and worked like almost magic. I grew 6 inches in 6 months.

It's a wonder I ever stopped wearing braids. I think it was because I was just so excited with my new growth. The thing is, as lovely as an afro is, it's a lot of hard work. Braids are a great protective alternative. Look out for LAW + MIAW's new video coming soon on the Protective styles Wigs vs Braids.

Thanks for reading.
